A Norwegian twist on a traditional Hefeweizen, this ale does not have the usual banana and clove esters, but leans toward a tropical profile by virtue of pineapple juice and a Norwegian yeast known as Kveik. With a simple malt bill of wheat and barley, as well as a low hop rate, the pineapple is accentuated by the yeast’s aromas of stonefruit and pineapple. Drinking one is like walking through a trippy, cosmic prairie.
