Press Release: Real Ale Hires First Director of Sales and Marketing

February 25, 2016

BLANCO, TX – Real Ale Brewing Company, celebrating 20 years of brewing in Texas this year, has hired Charlie Paulette as the company’s first Director of Sales and Marketing. Paulette comes to Real Ale as the outgoing Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for the nearby Gambrinus Company in San Antonio, TX.

“We are incredibly excited to have Charlie coming on board to lead Real Ale’s Sales and Marketing teams,” said Real Ale’s owner and president Brad Farbstein. “This is a new position at the brewery and we intend to utilize Charlie’s knowledge and experience to further develop our team and grow additional distribution for the brewery.”

In his new position at Real Ale, Paulette will be responsible for planning and executing all strategic sales, marketing and product development programs. In addition, he and Farbstein will share the responsibility of managing relationships with chain accounts.

Paulette brings over twenty years of Sales and Marketing experience in beer at the Gambrinus Company. Having started on the ground floor as an Assistant Brand Manager for Shiner in 1993, he worked his way up in the organization to his most recent role as the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for the Gambrinus portfolio. In this position he managed the brand and sales teams for Trumer Brauerei (based in Oakland, CA), Bridgeport Brewing Co. (based in Portland, OR) and the Spoetzl Brewery (based in Shiner, TX).

“I’m very excited to be joining the Real Ale family. I look forward to working with the entire team, as well as the Ben E. Keith sales organization,” said Paulette about the transition. “Real Ale is a true craft-brewing pioneer in Texas, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity of representing the brewery and its brands.”

“Despite the national conversation happening in craft beer right now around consolidations, acquisitions, and expansions,” Farbstein continued, “we want to be clear that although we’re thrilled with this new addition to the team, Real Ale has no intention to start distributing our beer outside of Texas. We also have no plans to change our creative process or marketing approach for bringing new beers to the Texas market. Charlie is a perfect fit for the way we do things in Blanco, and we’re thrilled to add his valuable, Texas-centric perspective to our team.”

About Real Ale Brewing Co.

Working in the Texas Hill Country since 1996 from a foundation of time-honored brewing tradition, Real Ale believes minimal processing produces maximum flavor. In addition to making beer that is unfiltered and unpasteurized, we never use preservatives or artificial colors. We believe doing less to the beer actually creates more complexity, aroma and flavor. We only sell Real Ale in the great state of Texas because we’re Texans, we care about Texans, and we want to make sure the people we care about have the highest quality beer possible.
