Real Heavy

Real Heavy is a traditional Strong Scotch Ale (Wee Heavy). It has a rich brown color, and a deep caramel flavor. Malt flavors dominate and are balanced by the alcohol (9.7% a.b.v.). It is brewed with English crystal malt, English hops, and fermented with English ale yeast. Fans of the Bitter End's award winning Prescott's Wee Heavy will not be disappointed.

Label for 15th Anniversary Ale

15th Anniversary Ale

A MAJESTIC ALE FOR A MONUMENTAL OCCASION This noble brew evolved from its common cousins, porter and stout, by necessity to endure the long voyage to the Russian royal court. Colossal additions of American hops are used to balance the robust malt character and infuse this ale with their distinctly citrus-like qualities. 15th Anniversary ale can be consumed now or laid down for later enjoyment. Take some home to share with friends and family at your court.

Label for 16th Anniversary Doppelbock

16th Anniversary Doppelbock

Real Ale's take on this classic German style is unfiltered and unabashedly bold. This lager is brewed with 100% premium German malt and hops, creating a robust malt backbone that finishes dry, matched by a firm yet balanced hop bitterness. The drier finish and elevated hop presence will distinguish this Doppelbock from its typically sweeter and less hoppy peers. We call it The Hexadecimator, a tribute both to our 16th year, and to the landscape of lagers it shall soon lay to waste!

4-squared

SPECIAL RELEASE!

What do you get when you take our top-selling Firemans #4 and transform it into 4-squared? Blonde ale to the power of awesome! You might ask how we've accomplished this, and you probably should. We start with the basic Firemans recipe, add more of our premium 2-row malted barley to bring this blonde ale up to 16°P, then add massive charges of hops to give some bulk to this burly blonde. The clean, dry finish and the signature Crystal and Glacier hops are still there -- we've simply multiplied it like crazy. Add to that Herkules, Amarillo and a round of dry-hopping, and you're left with notes of citrus and a substantial hop flavor and aroma. A truly special beer for our 16th year.

Casks of 4-squared have been additionally dry-hopped with Zythos hops, a blend of Northwest "IPA style" hops. Piney, resinous, and a boost of citrus.

Winter

Label for Phoenixx Double Extra Special Bitter

Phoenixx Double Extra Special Bitter

Our winter seasonal is inspired by the great ales of the UK but brewed with a distinctively American attitude. English crystal malt gives Phoenixx its subtle toffee and caramel notes, but this ale is about hops. The blend of English hops, highlighted by its namesake, Phoenix, yields a complex hop character that dominates this special brew.
